Pharmacy Technician - Materials Management

Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center is actively seeking an experienced and talented Pharmacy Technician - Materials Management to join our dynamic team. The successful applicant will be responsible for providing technical and administrative support to the pharmacy department in order to ensure the safe and accurate dispensing of medications to our patients.To be considered for this position, the ideal candidate must possess a high school diploma or equivalent, and must hold a current Pharmacy Technician license in the state of New York. In addition, a minimum of one year of experience in a pharmacy setting is preferred. The successful candidate must be organized and detail-oriented, with an excellent understanding of pharmaceutical terminology and pharmacy procedures. Strong computer literacy, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work in a team-oriented environment are also essential.

Responsibilities:

1. Assist pharmacists in providing safe and accurate dispensing of medications to patients.
2. Maintain pharmacy records and ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
3. Receive and process orders from physicians and other healthcare providers.
4. Verify accuracy of prescription orders and enter data into pharmacy systems.
5. Prepare and fill medication orders according to established protocols.
6. Stock shelves and maintain inventory of pharmaceuticals.
7. Answer questions from patients and healthcare providers pertaining to medication use and potential drug interactions.
8. Provide technical assistance to pharmacy technicians and other staff.
9. Assist with the training and supervision of pharmacy technicians.
10. Follow all safety practices and adhere to established policies and procedures.
