
Alcohol and Drug Prevention Worker
Plans, conducts, supervises and participates in educational activities, training and prevention programs for individuals and groups including schools. Assists in performing a variety of activities in a program area as directed by the department of assignment. Coordinates and conducts Friday Night Live and Club Live chapter activities and assumes disc-jockey functions. Makes detailed preparation for activities. Provides informational presentations on alcohol and drug abuse and prevention to local school and community agencies. Gathers necessary materials and equipment; sets up, operates and maintains equipment and supplies including audio-visual equipment. Assumes responsibility for the needs and control of the activities; assists with the expansion of existing programs an development of new materials. Prepares reports; may participate in basic client screening programs and provide information and/or referrals to other available community services.
At least 1 year of experience related to the prevention of alcohol and drug abuse among youth.
Possess a valid California driver's license at time of appointment and maintain.
Ability to resolve conflicts and respond appropriately to situations.
