
Clinic Coding Specialist

- Accurately assign CPT, ICD, and HCPCS codes to clinic services in accordance with coding guidelines and regulations.
- Utilize electronic health record systems to review patient records and identify necessary codes.
- Conduct thorough audits of coded records to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to resolve any coding discrepancies or incomplete documentation.
- Stay updated on changes in coding guidelines and regulations and implement them into daily coding practices.
- Communicate effectively with insurance companies to resolve any coding-related issues.
- Maintain strict confidentiality of patient and organization information.
- Identify and report any potential fraudulent or abusive coding practices.
- Work closely with billing department to ensure timely and accurate submission of claims.
- Participate in educational and training programs to maintain and improve coding skills.
- Maintain productivity and quality standards set by the organization.
- Provide support to other team members as needed.
- Contribute to the overall success of the organization by ensuring accurate and timely coding.
- Adhere to all ethical and professional standards set by the organization.
- Maintain a high level of attention to detail and precision in all coding tasks.
Certified Coding Specialist (Ccs) Certification From The American Health Information Management Association (Ahima) Or Certified Professional Coder (Cpc) Certification From The American Academy Of Professional Coders (Aapc).
Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience In Medical Coding, Preferably In An Outpatient Or Clinic Setting.
Strong Knowledge Of Icd-10, Cpt, And Hcpcs Coding Systems.
Familiarity With Electronic Medical Record (Emr) Systems And Coding Software.
Excellent Attention To Detail And Accuracy, With The Ability To Meet Productivity And Quality Standards.
