- Provide compassionate and comprehensive care to pregnant women, including prenatal, labor and delivery, and postpartum care.
- Conduct physical exams, monitor fetal development, and perform routine screenings and tests.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans for pregnant women, taking into consideration their medical history, preferences, and needs.
- Educate and support expectant mothers on various aspects of pregnancy, childbirth, and postpartum care.
- Monitor and assist with the progress of labor, including administering medications and providing emotional support.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals to ensure the best possible outcomes for patients.
- Adhere to all safety and infection control protocols to maintain a safe environment for patients and staff.
- Document all patient information accurately and in a timely manner.
- Stay up-to-date with current research and best practices in midwifery care.
- Participate in the development and implementation of policies and procedures related to midwifery care.

Bachelor's Degree In Nursing With A Specialization In Midwifery: The Ideal Candidate For A Clinical Midwife Position At Mercy Should Have A Bachelor's Degree In Nursing, With Specific Training And Coursework In Midwifery. This Will Ensure That They Have The Necessary Knowledge And Skills To Provide Comprehensive Care To Pregnant Women And Assist In Childbirth.
Certification As A Certified Nurse-Midwife (Cnm): A Cnm Certification Is Required For A Clinical Midwife Position At Mercy. This Certification Is Obtained Through The American Midwifery Certification Board And Ensures That The Candidate Has Met The National Standards For Midwifery Practice.
Previous Experience In A Hospital Or Clinical Setting: Prior Experience Working As A Midwife In A Hospital Or Clinical Setting Is Highly Valued For This Position.
