  1. Provide compassionate care to patients in need by utilizing specialized hand therapy techniques.
  2. Conduct thorough evaluations and assessments of patients' hand and upper extremity function.
  3. Develop individualized treatment plans based on patients' specific needs and goals.
  4. Administer therapy treatments, exercises, and modalities to improve patients' hand and upper extremity function.
  5. Monitor and document patients' progress and adjust treatment plans as needed.
  6. Educate patients and their families on proper hand therapy techniques and exercises to continue at home.
  7. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including physicians and occupational therapists, to provide comprehensive care to patients.
  8. Stay updated on the latest advancements and research in hand therapy to continuously improve treatment methods.
  9. Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and documentation.
  10. Adhere to ethical and professional standards in all interactions with patients, colleagues, and other healthcare professionals.
  11. Participate in ongoing professional development and training opportunities.
  12. Uphold the mission and values of Mercy in all aspects of the job.
  13. Maintain a high level of professionalism and respect for patients' privacy and confidentiality.
  14. Communicate effectively with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals to ensure the best possible care for patients.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Occupational Therapy: A Minimum Of A Bachelor's Degree In Occupational Therapy From An Accredited Program Is Required For This Role.

  • Certified Hand Therapist (Cht) Credential: The Ideal Candidate Should Hold A Certified Hand Therapist (Cht) Credential From The Hand Therapy Certification Commission (Htcc).

  • Previous Experience In Hand Therapy: A Minimum Of 2-3 Years Of Experience In Hand Therapy Is Preferred For This Position, With A Strong Understanding Of Hand And Upper Extremity Anatomy, Conditions, And Treatments.

  • Knowledge Of Current Therapy Techniques And Technology: The Candidate Should Have A Strong Understanding Of Current Therapy Techniques And Technology Related To Hand And Upper Extremity Rehabilitation.

  • Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills: The Ability To Effectively Communicate With Patients, Families, And Interdisciplinary Team Members Is Crucial For Success In This Role, As Well As Strong Interpersonal Skills To Build Rapport And Trust With Patients.
