We are currently seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to join our team as an Operating Room Supply Chain Technician. In this role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring the smooth and efficient flow of supplies and equipment for our operating rooms, ultimately contributing to our ability to provide top-notch care to our patients.   1. Manage inventory levels of supplies and equipment for the operating rooms, ensuring that all necessary items are always readily available.
  2. Conduct regular inventory audits to track supply levels and identify any potential shortages or overstocking.
  3. Collaborate with purchasing and supply chain teams to order and receive supplies in a timely and cost-effective manner.
  4. Maintain accurate and updated records of all supplies and equipment, including tracking usage and expiration dates.
  5. Utilize supply chain management software to track inventory and generate reports.
  6. Prepare and organize equipment and supplies for surgical procedures, ensuring that all necessary items are sterile and in working order.
  7. Communicate with operating room staff to anticipate and fulfill supply needs for upcoming procedures.
  8. Monitor equipment for functionality and escalate any issues to appropriate parties for repair or replacement.
  9. Implement and maintain efficient storage and organization systems for supplies and equipment.
  10. Participate in quality improvement initiatives to streamline supply chain processes and reduce waste.
  11. Comply with all safety and infection control protocols when handling and storing supplies and equipment.
  12. Train and onboard new staff members on supply chain procedures and protocols.
  13. Maintain a positive and professional attitude while working collaboratively with team members and other departments.
  14. Stay up-to-date on industry trends and advancements in supply chain management to make recommendations for improvements.
  15. Uphold the mission and values of Mercy by providing compassionate and exceptional care to all patients.

Job Qualifications
  • High School Diploma Or Equivalent: A Minimum Of A High School Diploma Or Equivalent Is Typically Required For An Operating Room Supply Chain Technician Job At Mercy. This Demonstrates A Basic Level Of Education And The Ability To Follow Instructions And Procedures.

  • Previous Supply Chain Experience: Experience Working In A Supply Chain Environment, Preferably In A Healthcare Setting, Is Highly Desirable For This Position. Candidates With Experience In Inventory Management, Purchasing, Or Supply Chain Operations Will Have An Advantage In The Hiring Process.

  • Knowledge Of Medical Supplies And Equipment: The Ideal Candidate Should Possess A Strong Understanding Of Medical Supplies And Equipment Commonly Used In An Operating Room. This Includes Knowledge Of Sterile Techniques, Surgical Instruments, And Medical Terminology.

  • Attention To Detail: Working In A Fast-Paced Operating Room Environment Requires A High Level Of Attention To Detail. The Ability To Accurately Track Inventory, Organize Supplies, And Ensure Proper Delivery And Distribution Of Items Is Crucial For The Success Of This Role.

  • Strong Communication Skills: Effective Communication Is Essential For An Operating Room Supply Chain Technician, As They Will Be Interacting With Various Departments, Healthcare Providers, And Vendors.
