Job Description

Are you a compassionate and outgoing individual who is passionate about making a difference in the lives of patients? If so, we have the perfect opportunity for you! Mercy is currently seeking a PRN Patient Ambassador to join our team. In this role, you will have the opportunity to provide support and comfort to our patients and their families during their hospital stay. We are looking for someone with excellent communication skills, a positive attitude, and a willingness to go above and beyond to ensure our patients receive the best care possible.   1. Provide compassionate support to patients and their families during their hospital stay.
  2. Communicate effectively with patients, families, and medical staff to ensure a positive and comfortable experience.
  3. Foster a welcoming and friendly atmosphere for patients and their families.
  4. Be knowledgeable about hospital policies and procedures to assist patients with any questions or concerns.
  5. Maintain a positive attitude and remain calm in stressful situations.
  6. Collaborate with other hospital staff to ensure patients' needs are met.
  7. Proactively identify and address any issues or concerns that patients may have.
  8. Take initiative to go above and beyond in providing exceptional care and support to patients.
  9. Maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations at all times.
  10. Attend training and education sessions to stay updated on the latest patient care techniques and protocols.
  11. Demonstrate empathy and understanding towards patients and their families.
  12. Maintain a neat and organized work area to ensure a comfortable environment for patients.
  13. Act as a liaison between patients, families, and medical staff to ensure effective communication and understanding.
  14. Provide emotional support and comfort to patients and their families during difficult times.
  15. Act as a positive representative of the hospital and embody its values and mission.

Job Qualifications
  • Excellent Communication Skills: A Patient Ambassador At Mercy Must Possess Strong Communication Skills To Effectively Interact With Patients, Families, And Staff Members In A Professional And Compassionate Manner.

  • Customer Service Experience: Prior Experience In A Customer Service Role Is Highly Preferred For This Position, As Patient Ambassadors Are Responsible For Providing Exceptional Service To Patients And Their Families.

  • Medical Knowledge: A Basic Understanding Of Medical Terminology, Procedures, And Protocols Is Necessary For A Patient Ambassador At Mercy To Effectively Assist Patients And Communicate With Healthcare Providers.

  • Empathetic And Caring Nature: As A Patient Ambassador, It Is Essential To Have A Compassionate And Empathetic Nature To Understand And Address The Needs Of Patients And Their Families During Their Time At The Hospital.

  • Flexibility And Availability: This Prn (As-Needed) Position Requires Candidates To Have A Flexible Schedule And Be Available To Work On Short Notice, Including Evenings, Weekends, And Holidays, To Ensure Adequate Coverage For Patient Needs.
