  5. Ensure proper labeling and storage of all samples.
  6. Follow established procedures and protocols for sample collection and handling.
  7. Keep work area clean and organized, adhering to all safety and infection control standards.
  8. Communicate with patients and healthcare team members in a professional and compassionate manner.
  9. Troubleshoot and resolve any issues with sample collection or testing.
  10. Stay up-to-date with industry developments and advancements in phlebotomy techniques.
  11. Train and mentor new phlebotomy staff as needed.
  12. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure timely and accurate patient care.
  13. Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and regulations.
  14. Maintain confidentiality of patient information.
  15. Provide exceptional customer service to patients and their families.

Job Qualifications
  • Certification And/Or Licensure: A Phlebotomist At Mercy Should Possess Valid Certification And/Or Licensure In Phlebotomy From An Accredited Institution.

  • Knowledge Of Medical Terminology: A Strong Understanding Of Medical Terminology Is Essential For A Phlebotomist At Mercy To Accurately Communicate With Healthcare Professionals And Patients.

  • Experience In Venipuncture And Specimen Collection: Candidates Should Have A Proven Track Record Of Successful Venipuncture And Specimen Collection, Preferably In A Hospital Or Clinical Setting.

  • Attention To Detail And Accuracy: As A Phlebotomist, Attention To Detail And Accuracy Is Crucial To Ensure The Correct Identification And Labeling Of Specimens, As Well As Following Established Protocols For Handling And Processing Samples.

  • Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills: The Ability To Effectively Communicate With Patients, Healthcare Professionals, And Coworkers Is Essential For A Phlebotomist At Mercy To Provide High-Quality And Compassionate Care.
