  1. Ensure the safety and security of all Mercy facilities, staff, patients, and visitors.
  2. Monitor and patrol the premises to detect and prevent potential security threats.
  3. Respond to emergency situations in a timely and efficient manner.
  4. Maintain a visible presence and act as a deterrent to potential security breaches.
  5. Enforce all safety and security policies and procedures set forth by Mercy.
  6. Conduct regular inspections of the facilities to identify and address any potential safety hazards.
  7. Communicate and collaborate with other departments and staff to maintain a safe and secure environment.
  8. Train and educate staff on safety and security protocols and procedures.
  9. Investigate and document any security incidents or breaches.
  10. Maintain accurate and detailed records of all security-related activities.
  11. Monitor and control access to restricted areas.
  12. Respond to and assist with medical emergencies if needed.
  13. Stay updated on security trends and best practices to continuously improve safety measures.
  14. Provide excellent customer service to all individuals entering the facility.
  15. Uphold the values of integrity, excellence, and service in all aspects of the job.

Job Qualifications
  • Minimum Education And Training Requirements: Candidates For A Public Safety Officer Position At Mercy Should Have At Least A High School Diploma Or Ged. Additionally, They Should Have Completed A Recognized Training Program In Public Safety Or Law Enforcement.

  • Experience In Emergency Response: Candidates Should Have Prior Experience In Emergency Response, Preferably In A Healthcare Or Hospital Setting. This Could Include Experience As A First Responder, Emergency Medical Technician, Or Firefighter.

  • Strong Communication Skills: Public Safety Officers Must Be Able To Effectively Communicate With Patients, Visitors, And Staff In Emergency Situations. They Should Have Clear And Concise Communication Skills, Both Verbally And In Writing.

  • Knowledge Of Safety And Security Protocols: Candidates Should Be Familiar With Safety And Security Protocols, Such As Fire Safety, Evacuation Procedures, And Responding To Medical Emergencies. They Should Also Have Knowledge Of State And Federal Laws Related To Public Safety.

  • Physical Fitness And Agility: Public Safety Officers May Be Required To Respond To Emergency Situations Quickly And May Need To Perform Physically Demanding Tasks. Candidates Should Be Physically Fit And Able To Pass Required Physical Fitness Tests.
