- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments, supplies, and equipment as needed.
- Ensure the safety and comfort of patients before, during, and after surgical procedures.
- Monitor and maintain a sterile field in the operating room to prevent infections and other complications.
- Anticipate the needs of surgeons and communicate effectively to ensure a smooth and efficient surgical process.
- Collaborate with other healthcare team members to provide high-quality patient care.
- Keep accurate records of surgical procedures and assist with maintaining patient medical records.
- Participate in ongoing training and education to stay updated on the latest surgical techniques and procedures.
- Comply with all safety and infection control protocols to maintain a safe and healthy work environment.

- Proactively identify and report any equipment malfunctions or other issues that may impact the surgical procedure.
- Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures and maintain confidentiality of patient information.

Completion Of An Accredited Surgical Technologist Training Program - Candidates Must Have Successfully Completed An Accredited Surgical Technologist Training Program, Which Typically Includes Classroom Instruction As Well As Hands-On Clinical Experience.
Certification As A Surgical Technologist (Cst) - Mercy May Require Candidates To Hold A Valid Certification As A Surgical Technologist (Cst) Through The National Board Of Surgical Technology And Surgical Assisting (Nbstsa).
Knowledge Of Surgical Procedures And Instrumentation - Candidates Should Possess A Strong Understanding Of Surgical Procedures, Including The Various Types Of Surgeries And The Instruments Used During Each Procedure.
