Job Description

Meritus Health is seeking an experienced Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our Rehabilitation team. The ideal candidate should possess a passion for providing high quality care in a fast-paced, patient-centered environment. This position requires an individual who is organized, efficient, and a team-player. The LPN must be reliable and able to work independently and with minimal supervision.The successful candidate must possess the following minimum qualifications: a valid license to practice as an LPN in the state of Maryland; a current CPR certification; two years of experience in a medical/surgical setting or long-term care; and a strong knowledge of nursing principles and procedures. The individual should also demonstrate excellent communication skills and the ability to work well with both patients and staff.

Responsibilities:

  1. Provide high quality care to patients in accordance with established standards and procedures.
  2. Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
  3. Monitor patient vital signs and assess patient condition.
  4. Document patient care activities in the patient’s health record.
  5. Assist the nursing staff in providing patient care and maintaining a safe environment.
  6. Provide patient and family education in regards to illness, treatments, medications and post-treatment care.
  7. Follow infection control protocols and adhere to safety protocols.
  8. Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to ensure quality care is provided.
  9. Maintain a high level of professionalism and customer service.
  10. Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
