Moffitt Cancer Center is looking for a dedicated and compassionate Chaplain to join our team in providing spiritual and pastoral support to patients and families. The ideal candidate for this role should demonstrate a strong commitment to helping others and must possess an understanding of spiritual and religious beliefs and practices. The Chaplain will be responsible for providing spiritual counseling, interfaith guidance, and emotional support to individuals and families facing life-altering diagnoses.The successful Chaplain must have an understanding of ethical and spiritual issues and a commitment to helping those in need. A Bachelor's degree in a related field is required, as well as an active religious ordination. Additional experience in a clinical setting is preferred. The Chaplain must be able to work independently and as part of a team, and must possess strong communication skills and a commitment to providing compassionate care.
Responsibilities:
- Provide spiritual counseling and interfaith guidance to individuals and families facing life-altering diagnoses.
- Create and maintain meaningful connections with patients and families.
- Offer emotional support to patients and their families.
- Utilize professional and ethical practices in accordance with relevant religious/spiritual beliefs and practices.
- Maintain a safe, supportive, and confidential environment for patients and families.
- Develop and implement pastoral services, such as devotional services, worship services, and educational programs.
- Serve as a liaison between the hospital and the local faith community.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure quality spiritual care is provided to patients.
- Provide crisis intervention services as needed.
- Document patient visits, treatments, and other relevant information.
