Data Analyst - Bioinformatics

Moffitt Cancer Center is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Data Analyst - Bioinformatics professional to join our team. We are looking for an individual with strong analytical and problem-solving skills, who is able to think critically and multi-task effectively in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will be able to understand complex biological data, interpret the data and apply analytical and scientific methods to develop models and insights.The ideal candidate will have a Master’s degree or higher in Bioinformatics, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field, experience with programming and database technologies, and proficiency in data analysis and visualization software. Experience with bioinformatics tools, statistical methods, and working with high-throughput genomic data is also preferred. The successful candidate must also have excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities:

1. Utilize analytical and scientific methods to develop models and insights from complex biological data.
2. Utilize programming and database technologies to interpret and analyze data.
3. Develop and maintain data visualization software.
4. Utilize bioinformatics tools and statistical methods to analyze high-throughput genomic data.
5. Maintain organized and detailed documentation of data analysis and results.
6. Communicate effectively with colleagues and other stakeholders.
7. Identify and troubleshoot potential problems and issues related to data analysis.
8. Develop strategies to optimize data analysis processes.
