Job Description

Moffitt Cancer Center is seeking an experienced, dedicated Licensing Manager to join our team. This role plays an essential part in the successful negotiation and execution of licensing agreements related to the commercialization of Moffitt Cancer Center's intellectual property. The ideal candidate should possess a comprehensive understanding of the legal aspects of technology transfer, licensing, and patent law, as well as a strong background in contract negotiations. The successful Licensing Manager will be an ambitious team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Required Qualifications: • Bachelor's degree in a scientific or legal field and at least 5 years of experience in intellectual property, technology transfer, or a related field • Experience in contract negotiation and drafting • In-depth knowledge of patent law• Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills • Ability to work independently and as part of a team • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work in a dynamic environment • Ability to think critically and analytically

Responsibilities:

  1. Negotiate and execute licensing agreements related to the commercialization of Moffitt Cancer Center's intellectual property.
  2. Ensure compliance with patent law and other applicable legal regulations.
  3. Draft and review contracts and other legal documents.
  4. Develop and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  5. Prepare and present reports related to licensing activities.
  6. Monitor industry trends and developments related to intellectual property.
  7. Manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks.
  8. Provide guidance and mentorship to junior staff members.
  9. Stay informed of best practices in contract negotiation and intellectual property law.
  10. Assist with other duties as assigned.
