Job Description

Morgan Stanley is seeking an experienced and talented General Counsel - Investment Research to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing legal advice and counsel for all aspects of our global Investment Research business. You will be expected to work closely with senior management and colleagues across the firm to develop and implement legal strategies, policies, and procedures for our research initiatives.We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced professional with a strong background in securities law and regulations. The ideal candidate will have a Juris Doctor degree and at least 5+ years of relevant experience. Responsibilities:

  1. Provide legal advice and counsel for all aspects of the global Investment Research business.
  2. Develop and implement legal strategies, policies, and procedures for investment research initiatives.
  3. Analyze complex legal issues related to the Investment Research business.
  4. Monitor and advise on changes to applicable securities laws and regulations.
  5. Develop and maintain relationships with external counsel to ensure efficient and effective legal services.
  6. Train and educate senior management and colleagues on legal issues related to the Investment Research business.
  7. Draft and negotiate contracts and other legal documents.
  8. Maintain knowledge and understanding of the Investment Research business and related legal issues.
  9. Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and company policies.
  10. Participate in special projects and initiatives as needed.
