
State and Local Tax Manager - M&A
Moss Adams is looking for an experienced and highly motivated State and Local Tax Manager - M&A to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of state and local tax law with a focus on M&A transactions. You should have strong organizational skills, the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and excellent communication skills with a customer-focused approach. If you have a passion for state and local tax and are excited about the opportunity to join a well-recognized team, then this could be the role for you.Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field• CPA, EA, JD or LLM• 5+ years of experience in a professional services firm, public accounting firm, or related industry• Experience with state and local tax law related to M&A transactions• Knowledge of the taxation of corporations, pass-through entities, and individuals• Ability to identify, analyze, and resolve complex state and local tax issues• Ability to work independently and in a team environment• Excellent written and verbal communication skills• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
Responsibilities:
- Manage the daily operations of state and local tax consulting, compliance, and planning, with a focus on M&A transactions.
- Analyze, interpret, and apply complex state and local tax laws to provide clients with tax strategies that maximize their tax savings.
- Develop and maintain relationships with clients, providing advice on state and local tax law impacting their business.
- Identify and analyze potential tax issues, develop solutions, and communicate such solutions to clients.
- Supervise and mentor junior team members.
- Review and prepare state and local tax returns.
- Prepare and review technical memoranda and other documentation of tax research.
- Work collaboratively with other members of the tax team to ensure timely and accurate completion of projects.
- Participate in business development activities to help grow the firm’s presence in the state and local tax arena.
