Model Risk Officer

The NatWest Group is seeking an experienced Model Risk Officer to join our expanding Risk Management team. The Model Risk Officer will be responsible for the assessment, monitoring, and management of model risk across the enterprise.The ideal candidate will possess at least five years of experience in model risk, quantitative risk management, or a related field. They should be well-versed in risk management concepts, financial regulations, and have a good understanding of statistical and mathematical models. A Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field such as mathematics, statistics, economics, or finance is preferred. Additionally, the successful candidate should have strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues across the organization.

Responsibilities:

1. Develop and implement model risk management policies and procedures.
2. Monitor and evaluate risk models and assess their effectiveness.
3. Assist in the development of new models and improvements to existing models.
4. Provide guidance and training on model risk management to staff throughout the organization.
5. Identify and assess potential risks associated with models.
6. Evaluate stress testing results and make recommendations for improvements.
7. Work with external stakeholders to ensure models meet regulatory standards.
8. Monitor model performance and adjust models as necessary.
9. Prepare risk reports and present findings to senior management.
10. Maintain and update risk models regularly.
