Job Description

Select and edit images for inclusion in stories published on today.com and TODAY digital platforms. Monitor news agency feeds to identify strong images for breaking and developing news stories. Create photo essays and photo galleries for today.com. Create photo illustrations for inclusion in stories published on website and TODAY digital platforms. Work with multiple stakeholders and execute assignments from editors on a wide range of topics for all TODAY Digital platforms. Follow and adhere to Rights and Clearances Guidance for all website visuals. Collaborate with digital and broadcast staff to optimize and reimagine broadcast imagery for a digital audience, from creating engaging slideshows and photo posts to running live streams and making shareable content for social platforms.

Job Qualifications

  • Experience in digital news and lifestyle publishing.

  • At least one year as a photo editor at a news organization, or a comparable body of freelance work

  • Ability to edit still photography for digital platforms

  • Must have a broad knowledge and curiosity about news, and a keen eye for spotting interesting and newsworthy visual content

  • Must have a broad understanding of industry tools and techniques
