  1. Develop and implement strategic plans for SEP litigation, in collaboration with the legal team and other departments.
  2. Conduct thorough research and analysis of patent laws and regulations to ensure compliance and inform litigation strategies.
  3. Manage all aspects of SEP litigation, including drafting pleadings, conducting discovery, and representing the company in court proceedings.
  4. Advise internal stakeholders on patent-related matters and provide legal guidance on potential risks and opportunities.
  5. Collaborate with external legal counsel to effectively manage outside litigation and negotiate settlements.
  6. Stay up-to-date on industry developments and trends in SEP litigation to inform the company's approach and strategies.
  7. Oversee and manage patent portfolios to ensure maximum protection of the company's intellectual property.
  8. Work closely with cross-functional teams, including R&D, engineering, and product development, to identify and mitigate potential patent infringement risks.
  9. Provide regular reports and updates to senior management on the status of ongoing SEP litigation cases and related matters.
  10. Mentor and supervise junior legal staff, providing guidance and support on patent law and litigation practices.
  11. Represent Nokia in industry associations and conferences related to patent law and SEP litigation.
  12. Maintain a high level of professionalism and ethical standards in all interactions and communications.

Job Qualifications
  • Juris Doctor (J.d.) Degree From An Accredited Law School With A Focus On Intellectual Property Law.

  • Minimum Of 10 Years Of Experience As A Patent Litigator, With A Strong Background In Standard Essential Patent (Sep) Litigation.

  • Admitted To The Bar In At Least One State, Preferably California Or Texas, With The Ability To Obtain Admission In Other States As Needed.

  • Extensive Knowledge Of Patent Law, Patent Litigation Procedures, And The Ability To Effectively Manage Complex Litigation Cases.

  • Strong Communication And Negotiation Skills, With The Ability To Work Collaboratively With Cross-Functional Teams And External Stakeholders.
