As a Colorist, you will play a crucial role in creating and executing the color direction for our fashion collections.   1. Develop and execute the color direction for Nordstrom's fashion collections, in line with current fashion trends and brand identity.
  2. Collaborate with design and merchandising teams to ensure color concepts align with overall vision and product assortment.
  3. Conduct thorough research on current and emerging fashion trends, as well as consumer preferences, to inform color choices.
  4. Create and present color boards and palettes to key stakeholders, clearly communicating the rationale behind each selection.
  5. Work closely with fabric and textile suppliers to source and develop new and innovative color options.
  6. Ensure color consistency across multiple product categories and styles, while also considering the unique characteristics of each item.
  7. Conduct regular color reviews and make necessary adjustments based on feedback from cross-functional teams and customers.
  8. Manage and maintain color standards and libraries, ensuring accuracy and accessibility for all teams.
  9. Collaborate with production teams to ensure color accuracy in final products and troubleshoot any issues that may arise.
  10. Continuously monitor and analyze color trends and customer feedback to drive future color direction and maintain brand relevance.
  11. Stay updated on industry developments and advancements in color technology to enhance Nordstrom's color capabilities.
  12. Uphold Nordstrom's commitment to delivering high-quality, on-trend products by meeting deadlines and adhering to quality standards.

  • Team Player: Working As Part Of A Team Is Essential At Nordstrom, And A Colorist Must Be Able To Collaborate Effectively With Other Designers, Buyers, And Merchandisers. This Includes Taking Feedback And Incorporating It Into Their Designs To Create Cohesive Collections.
