Job Description

Northwestern Medical Center is looking for a compassionate and detail-oriented Operating Room Aide to join our dynamic healthcare team. The successful candidate will be a key member of our team, providing essential support to our medical staff and ensuring that our operating rooms are well equipped and properly maintained. We are looking for an individual who is organized and reliable, with a commitment to providing excellent patient care.The ideal candidate should have prior experience in a healthcare setting and demonstrate a strong knowledge of sterile techniques and medical terminology. The successful candidate should also possess excellent customer service and communication skills. A high school diploma or GED is required, as well as a valid driver’s license. Responsibilities:

  1. Provide support to medical staff by ensuring operating rooms are clean, well-stocked, and properly maintained.
  2. Follow established procedures for preparing and maintaining a sterile field.
  3. Assist in the transfer of patients to and from the operating room.
  4. Prepare surgical instruments and equipment for procedures.
  5. Ensure that all patient safety protocols are followed.
  6. Maintain accurate records of all supplies used and restocked in the operating room.
  7. Assist with transporting specimens and other items to and from the laboratory.
  8. Collaborate with medical staff to ensure patient comfort and satisfaction.
  9. Respond to questions and requests from medical staff and patients in a timely manner.
  10. Follow all safety and infection control protocols.
