
Lab Technician - Microbiology
At Northwestern Medicine, we are looking for a highly skilled Lab Technician to join our Microbiology team! We are a leader in medical research and strive for excellence in all that we do. The successful candidate will be a self-starter with excellent communication skills, an eye for detail, and a commitment to providing the highest-quality laboratory services.To be successful in this role, you must have an Associate’s degree in Medical Laboratory Science or a related field, along with a minimum of two years of experience in a laboratory setting. Knowledge of aseptic technique, microbiological techniques, and laboratory regulations is essential. You must also have the ability to work independently and as part of a team, while following safety protocols. Responsibilities:
- Maintain a high level of accuracy and precision in laboratory work following safety protocols.
- Prepare samples and perform microbiological tests on specimens.
- Use aseptic technique and other laboratory techniques to analyze specimens.
- Develop, calibrate, and maintain laboratory equipment.
- Maintain a clean and organized laboratory environment.
- Adhere to applicable regulations and standards.
- Maintain accurate records of laboratory test results and other data.
- Monitor laboratory stocks and order supplies as needed.
- Provide technical support to laboratory personnel.
- Assist with laboratory research projects.
Ability To Work Independently And As Part Of A Team
Bachelor's Degree In Microbiology Or Related Field
Knowledge Of Laboratory Safety And Aseptic Techniques
Ability To Accurately Record And Analyze Data
Ability To Follow Protocols And Maintain Detailed Records
