Job Description

At Northwestern Medicine, we strive to provide the best care for our patients. We are looking for a compassionate and talented Patient Care Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing support to nursing staff and ensuring the comfort and safety of our patients. In this role, you will be a valued member of the healthcare team, helping to provide high-quality patient care.To excel in this role, you should have excellent clinical and communication skills, as well as a commitment to patient-centered care. You should also have a high school diploma and a minimum of 6 months of related experience. Having a certification in a relevant field (e.g. patient care technician, medical assistant, etc.) is highly desirable. If you have a strong work ethic and are passionate about providing excellent patient care, we want to hear from you.

Responsibilities:

  1. Monitor and record patient vital signs and medical information as directed by nursing staff.
  2. Assist with patient activities, such as dressing, bathing, transferring, and ambulating.
  3. Provide compassionate care to patients and families.
  4. Prepare and maintain patient rooms, equipment, and supplies.
  5. Assist with other clinical tasks as needed, such as taking blood samples or administering medication.
  6. Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
  7. Follow all safety protocols and adhere to established policies and procedures.
  8. Assist with patient discharge processes.
  9. Maintain accurate records and documentation.
  10. Participate in continuing education and training to stay up to date on changes in healthcare.
