
Phlebotomist - Primary Care
We are looking for an experienced and dedicated Phlebotomist to join our Primary Care team at Northwestern Medicine. In this role, you will work with a team of passionate and collaborative professionals to ensure our patients receive accurate and timely specimen collection and processing. The ideal candidate will possess a strong knowledge of the healthcare industry, excellent communication and problem-solving skills, and a deep commitment to providing quality patient care. If you are a highly motivated individual who is eager to take on a challenging role, we want to hear from you!Qualifications:• High school diploma or equivalent• Completion of a phlebotomy training program• Current certification as a Phlebotomy Technician• At least one year of phlebotomy experience in a clinical setting• Ability to act professionally and respectfully in all interactions• Excellent organizational and multitasking skills• Knowledge of laboratory safety policies and procedures• Knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy
Responsibilities: • Perform venipunctures and skin punctures accurately and safely • Collect and process specimens in accordance with established laboratory protocols • Maintain accurate patient records and documentation • Verify patient identification and ensure proper labeling of specimens • Ensure all specimens are collected and processed in a timely manner • Follow all safety and infection control procedures • Answer patient questions and provide information regarding specimen collection processes • Assist in the training and orientation of new staff • Follow established laboratory policies and procedures • Maintain a clean and organized work area • Interact with patients and other healthcare providers in a professional and courteous manner • Assist in other duties as required
