Job Description

At Northwestern Medicine, we are looking for a Sterile Processing Technician who is passionate about providing the best care to our patients. We seek an individual who is thoughtful, detail-oriented, and organized to join our team. As a Sterile Processing Technician, you will be responsible for the cleaning, disinfection, decontamination, and sterilization of all medical equipment used in patient care. You will also participate in the inspection, assembly, and packaging of medical instruments for subsequent sterilization and distribution. The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:

Responsibilities:

  1. Clean, disinfect, decontaminate, and sterilize all medical equipment used in patient care.
  2. Inspect, assemble, and package medical instruments for sterilization and distribution.
  3. Follow established protocols and procedures to ensure that all equipment is properly sterilized and stored.
  4. Monitor inventory of supplies and equipment and order additional items as needed.
  5. Maintain accurate records of sterilization and distribution processes.
  6. Provide training and support to other personnel as needed.
  7. Adhere to all safety protocols and standards.
  8. Participate in continuing education and training to stay up-to-date on the latest techniques and procedures.

Job Qualifications

  • Current Certification As A Certified Registered Central Service Technician (Crcst) From The International Association Of Healthcare Central Service Material Management (Iahcsmm)

  • Good Manual Dexterity And Ability To Use Small Tools
