Job Description

Under the direction of the Chief Operating Officer, the Affirmative Action/EEO Specialist is responsible for administering Norwalk Community College’s affirmative action program to ensure compliance with federal and state equal employment opportunity laws, regulations and guidelines.

  • Compiling and analyzing statistical data as related to affirmative action;
  • Preparation and submission of the College’s affirmative action report to CHRO;
  • Assisting with the development of procedures and programs to attract, retain and promote a diverse workforce;
  • Assist with internal recruitment efforts at the College;
  • Training or arranging for training on mandated programs;
  • Assisting with discrimination complaint investigations.

Job Qualifications
  • 5 years experience in the development and administration of affirmative action plan

  • Demonstrated knowledge of relevant State and Federal laws, statutes and regulations of affirmative action programs essential

  • The ability to develop and implement affirmative action plans.
