- Conduct thorough and comprehensive patent searches to determine the patentability of Novartis products and technologies.
- Prepare and file patent applications with relevant patent offices, ensuring accuracy and completeness of all required documentation.
- Work closely with inventors, research and development teams, and external counsel to identify and protect Novartis' intellectual property.
- Monitor and manage Novartis' existing patent portfolio, including reviewing and responding to office actions and conducting patent maintenance activities.
- Provide legal advice and support to various departments within Novartis, including research and development, marketing, and sales, to ensure compliance with patent laws and regulations.
- Conduct due diligence on potential partnerships, collaborations, and acquisitions to assess patent risks and opportunities.
- Stay current on developments in patent law and provide guidance and training to colleagues on patent-related matters.
- Develop and maintain relationships with external counsel and patent offices to effectively manage Novartis' patent portfolio.
- Participate in patent disputes and litigation as needed, providing legal support and expertise.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and address intellectual property issues and risks related to Novartis' products and technologies.
- Maintain confidentiality and protect sensitive information related to Novartis' intellectual property.
- Adhere to all relevant laws, regulations, and company policies related to patent law and intellectual property.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with internal and external stakeholders, including senior management, regarding patent-related matters.

Degree In Law: A Patent Attorney At Novartis Must Hold A Juris Doctor (Jd) Degree From An Accredited Law School. This Degree Provides The Necessary Legal Knowledge And Skills To Advise On Patent Issues.
Bar Admission: Candidates Must Be Admitted To Practice Law In At Least One State Or Jurisdiction. This Demonstrates The Ability To Pass The Bar Exam And Meet The Ethical And Professional Standards Required For Practicing Law.
