Job Description

As an Assistant Manager, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the day-to-day operations of our busy surgical department, ensuring that our patients receive the highest quality care and our team members have the support they need to excel.   1. Oversee and manage the day-to-day operations of the surgical department, ensuring smooth and efficient functioning.
  2. Provide leadership and direction to the surgical team, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
  3. Monitor and maintain the quality of patient care, ensuring that all practices and procedures meet industry standards and regulations.
  4. Train and mentor staff members, providing guidance and support to help them excel in their roles.
  5. Collaborate with other members of the management team to develop and implement strategic plans to improve patient outcomes and team performance.
  6. Manage staffing and scheduling, ensuring adequate coverage and appropriate utilization of resources.
  7. Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide feedback to team members, identifying areas for improvement and implementing action plans to address any issues.
  8. Communicate effectively with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated and efficient patient care.
  9. Monitor and manage the department's budget, identifying opportunities for cost savings and optimizing resource allocation.
  10. Stay up-to-date with advancements and best practices in surgical care, and incorporate them into department policies and procedures.
  11. Participate in departmental meetings and represent the surgical department in hospital-wide initiatives and committees.
  12. Handle any patient or staff concerns or complaints, ensuring timely resolution and maintaining high levels of patient satisfaction.
  13. Assist with recruitment and onboarding of new team members, ensuring a smooth and efficient integration into the department.
  14. Maintain a safe and clean work environment, adhering to all safety regulations and protocols.
  15. Continuously evaluate and improve processes and procedures to enhance efficiency and quality of care.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Healthcare Administration, Nursing, Or Related Field.

  • Minimum Of 3-5 Years Of Experience In Surgical Services, Preferably In A Leadership Role.

  • Strong Understanding Of Surgical Workflows, Equipment, And Procedures.

  • Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills To Effectively Lead And Collaborate With Surgical Staff, Physicians, And Other Healthcare Professionals.

  • Knowledge Of Regulatory And Compliance Requirements Related To Surgical Services, Including Joint Commission Standards And Cms Regulations.
