As a CDI Specialist, you will play a crucial role in optimizing the quality and integrity of our patient's medical records.   1. Review and analyze medical records to identify areas for improvement in clinical documentation.
  2. Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure accurate and complete documentation of patient conditions, treatments, and outcomes.
  3. Educate and train healthcare providers on proper coding and documentation guidelines.
  4. Utilize coding knowledge and experience to accurately assign appropriate diagnostic and procedural codes.
  5. Identify potential compliance issues and work to resolve them in a timely manner.
  6. Stay up-to-date on industry regulations and guidelines related to clinical documentation and coding.
  7. Conduct thorough audits of medical records to ensure compliance and accuracy.
  8. Communicate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure a comprehensive and accurate representation of patient care.
  9. Develop and implement strategies for improving clinical documentation processes and outcomes.
  10. Participate in quality improvement initiatives related to clinical documentation.
  11. Serve as a resource for healthcare providers regarding coding and documentation best practices.
  12. Maintain strict confidentiality of patient information in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
  13. Collaborate with coding and billing teams to ensure accurate and timely submission of claims.
  14. Serve as a liaison between the healthcare facility and external auditors or regulatory agencies.
  15. Uphold the mission, vision, and values of the healthcare facility in all aspects of job performance.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Or Associate's Degree In Nursing, Health Information Management, Or Related Field.

  • Certified Clinical Documentation Specialist (Ccds) Or Certified Coding Specialist (Ccs) Certification.

  • Minimum Of 3 Years Experience As A Cdi Specialist In A Healthcare Setting.

  • Thorough Understanding Of Icd-10 Coding Guidelines And Drg Assignment.

  • Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Collaborate With Physicians, Nurses, And Other Healthcare Professionals.
