Job Description

  1. Provide comprehensive healthcare services to women during pregnancy, childbirth, and the postpartum period.
  2. Conduct thorough prenatal and postpartum assessments, including physical exams, medical history reviews, and screening tests.
  3. Monitor the progress of labor and delivery, and provide care to both mother and baby during and after childbirth.
  4. Administer medications and treatments as needed, and collaborate with other healthcare providers to ensure the best possible outcomes for patients.
  5. Educate patients and their families about pregnancy, childbirth, and postpartum care, including breastfeeding, infant care, and family planning.
  6. Maintain accurate and detailed medical records, and adhere to all legal and ethical standards of practice.
  7. Provide emotional support and counseling to patients and their families, and refer them to appropriate resources as needed.
  8. Stay current on developments and advancements in the field of midwifery, and integrate new information and techniques into practice.
  9. Collaborate with other healthcare team members to develop and implement policies and procedures that promote the delivery of high-quality care.
  10. Adhere to all safety and infection control protocols, and report any issues or concerns to appropriate personnel.
  11. Participate in continuing education and professional development opportunities to maintain certification and enhance knowledge and skills.
  12. Represent Orlando Health in a professional and positive manner, and promote the organization's mission and values at all times.
  13. Build and maintain positive relationships with patients, families, and colleagues, and communicate effectively and respectfully.
  14. Adhere to all organizational policies and procedures, and comply with all state and federal regulations related to midwifery practice.
  15. Maintain confidentiality of patient information and adhere to HIPAA guidelines at all times.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Or Master’s Degree In Nursing From An Accredited Institution.

  • Current Certification As A Certified Nurse Midwife (Cnm) From The American Midwifery Certification Board.

  • Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience Working As A Cnm In A Hospital Or Clinical Setting.

  • Active And Unrestricted Rn And Aprn License In The State Of Florida.

  • Bls And Nrp Certifications.
