- Provide exceptional healthcare services: The primary responsibility of this role is to provide high-quality healthcare services to patients at Orlando Health. This includes conducting physical exams, providing prenatal care, assisting with labor and delivery, and providing postpartum care.
- Collaborate with OB/GYN team: The Certified Nurse Midwife or Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner will work closely with the OB/GYN team to ensure the best possible care for patients. This includes collaborating on treatment plans, communicating patient needs and concerns, and providing support to fellow team members.
- Deliver personalized care: This role requires the ability to provide individualized care to patients based on their specific needs and preferences. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with patients to provide the best possible care.
- Support women and families: As a member of the OB/GYN department, the Certified Nurse Midwife or Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner will play a crucial role in supporting women and families through the various stages of pregnancy and beyond. This may involve providing emotional support, education, and resources to help patients make informed decisions about their health.
- Maintain high standards of care: It is the responsibility of this role to uphold the standards of care set by Orlando Health and the OB/GYN department. This includes following all protocols and procedures, ensuring the safety and well-being of patients, and maintaining accurate and up-to-date patient records.

Bachelor's Degree In Nursing: Candidates For A Certified Nurse Midwife Or Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner Position At Orlando Health Should Possess A Bachelor Of Science In Nursing (Bsn) Degree From An Accredited Institution. This Provides A Strong Foundation In Nursing Principles And Prepares Individuals For Advanced Practice Roles.
Master's Degree In Nursing: In Addition To A Bsn, Candidates Should Also Have A Master Of Science In Nursing (Msn) Degree With A Focus On Midwifery Or Women’s Health. This Degree Provides Specialized Knowledge And Skills Necessary For Providing Quality Care To Women And Their Families.
Current Certification: Candidates Must Hold A Current Certification As A Certified Nurse Midwife (Cnm) Or Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner (Whnp). This Certification Is Obtained Through The American Midwifery Certification Board (Amcb) Or The National Certification Corporation (Ncc), Respectively.
State Licensure: All Candidates Must Hold An Active And Unrestricted License To Practice As A Cnm Or Whnp In The State Of Florida. This Ensures That They Meet All State Requirements And Are Legally Permitted To Provide Care To Patients.
Relevant Experience: Orlando Health May Require Candidates To Have A Minimum Of 2-3 Years Of Experience Working As A Cnm Or Whnp In A Hospital Or Clinic Setting. This Demonstrates The Candidate’s Ability To Provide High-Quality Care And Work Effectively Within A Healthcare Team.
