- Oversee and manage the daily operations of the cardiovascular department, including staffing, budgeting, and resource allocation.
- Provide strategic direction and develop long-term goals for the department in alignment with the organization's mission and values.
- Ensure the delivery of high-quality patient care by implementing and monitoring best practices and quality improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate with other healthcare leaders and departments to develop and implement interdisciplinary programs and initiatives to improve cardiovascular health in the community.
- Develop and maintain relationships with physicians, staff, and other stakeholders to foster a collaborative and positive work environment.
- Stay updated on the latest advancements and research in cardiovascular care to ensure the department remains at the forefront of innovation and technology.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards.
- Manage and evaluate the performance of department staff, providing feedback, coaching, and addressing any performance issues.
- Participate in recruitment, hiring, and onboarding of new staff, ensuring the department has a competent and engaged team.
- Monitor and manage the department's budget, identifying areas for cost savings and maximizing efficiency.
- Act as a liaison between the department and executive leadership, providing regular updates on departmental performance, challenges, and opportunities.
- Collaborate with marketing and communications teams to promote the department's services and raise awareness about cardiovascular health in the community.
- Ensure a safe and welcoming environment for patients, families, and staff, addressing any concerns or complaints in a timely and effective manner.
- Maintain confidentiality of patient and employee information in accordance with HIPAA guidelines and organizational policies.
- Lead by example and promote a culture of continuous learning, professional development, and excellence in patient care.
Extensive Experience In Cardiovascular Services: A Director Of Cardiovascular Services At Orlando Health Should Have A Minimum Of 5-7 Years Of Experience Working In A Leadership Role Within A Cardiovascular Department, Such As A Nurse Manager Or Assistant Director. This Experience Should Include Managing Budgets, Developing And Implementing Quality Improvement Initiatives, And Overseeing The Day-To-Day Operations Of A Cardiovascular Unit.
Strong Leadership And Communication Skills: As A Director Of Cardiovascular Services, This Individual Will Be Responsible For Leading A Team Of Healthcare Professionals And Collaborating With Other Departments Within The Organization. Therefore, They Must Possess Strong Leadership And Communication Skills To Effectively Manage Staff, Build Relationships With Colleagues, And Effectively Communicate With Patients And Their Families.
In-Depth Knowledge Of Cardiovascular Care: A Successful Candidate For This Position Should Have A Thorough Understanding Of The Latest Advancements And Best Practices In Cardiovascular Care. This Includes A Strong Understanding Of Cardiac Catheterization, Electrophysiology, And Other Specialized Procedures, As Well As A Deep Understanding Of Cardiac Diseases And Conditions.
Experience In Strategic Planning And Financial Management: The Director Of Cardiovascular Services Will Be Responsible For Developing Long-Term Strategic Plans For The Department And Managing The Financial Resources Allocated To The Unit. Therefore, They Should Have Experience In Budget Management, Financial Planning, And Data Analysis To Make Informed Decisions That Align With The Overall Goals Of Orlando Health.
Bachelor's Or Master's Degree In Healthcare Administration Or Related Field: A Bachelor's Or Master's Degree In Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Or A Related Field Is Typically Required For A Director Of Cardiovascular Services Position.
