As a Hot Prep Cook, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the highest quality of food is prepared and served to our patients, visitors, and staff. - Prepare and cook high-quality hot food items according to standardized recipes and portion sizes.
- Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines to ensure the safety of our patients, visitors, and staff.
- Maintain a clean and organized work station, including proper storage and labeling of ingredients.
- Work closely with the kitchen team to ensure timely and efficient preparation of all food items.
- Collaborate with the Executive Chef and Sous Chef to develop new menu items and improve existing recipes.
- Monitor and maintain inventory levels of all hot food items, ensuring adequate supply at all times.
- Uphold high standards of food presentation and ensure all dishes are visually appealing.
- Communicate effectively with other team members to ensure a smooth and coordinated flow of food preparation.
- Train and mentor new kitchen staff members on proper food preparation techniques and procedures.
- Continuously strive to improve and maintain the quality of food served to our patients, visitors, and staff.
- Proactively identify and resolve any issues or discrepancies with food quality or quantity.
- Follow all company policies and procedures, including dress code and attendance guidelines.
- Assist with other kitchen duties as needed, including cleaning and dishwashing.
- Maintain a positive and professional attitude at all times, promoting a positive work environment.
- Attend and actively participate in all team meetings and training sessions.
Culinary Education And Experience: A Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience In A Professional Kitchen And A Culinary Degree Or Certificate Is Required For This Position. This Ensures That The Candidate Has The Necessary Knowledge And Skills To Perform The Job Duties Of A Hot Prep Cook.
Knowledge Of Food Safety And Sanitation: The Candidate Must Have A Thorough Understanding Of Food Safety And Sanitation Practices To Ensure That All Food Prepared Is Safe For Consumption. This Includes Knowledge Of Haccp Principles And Proper Handling And Storage Of Food.
Ability To Work In A Fast-Paced Environment: A Hot Prep Cook Must Be Able To Work Efficiently And Quickly In A Fast-Paced Kitchen Environment. This Requires Strong Multitasking Skills, The Ability To Prioritize Tasks, And Excellent Time Management.
Attention To Detail: The Hot Prep Cook Must Have A Keen Eye For Detail To Ensure That All Food Items Are Prepared According To Recipe And Presentation Standards. This Includes Measuring Ingredients Accurately, Following Recipes Precisely, And Plating Food Attractively.
Teamwork And Communication Skills: A Hot Prep Cook Must Be Able To Work Well With Others In A Team Environment And Communicate Effectively With Other Kitchen Staff. This Includes Taking Direction From Chefs And Other Supervisors, As Well As Being Able To Communicate Any Issues Or Concerns In A Professional Manner.
