Job Description

  1. Perform clinical duties: As a Certified Medical Assistant, you will be responsible for performing a variety of clinical duties, including taking and recording vital signs, assisting with procedures, administering medications, and providing patient education.
  2. Maintain patient records: You will be responsible for accurately documenting patient information and maintaining electronic health records in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  3. Assist physicians and specialists: In this role, you will work closely with physicians and specialists to provide support and assistance during patient appointments and procedures.
  4. Ensure patient comfort and safety: It will be your responsibility to ensure that patients are comfortable and safe during their appointments and procedures by monitoring vital signs and addressing any concerns or discomfort.
  5. Provide exceptional patient care: As a member of the Pulmonary Critical Care team, you will be expected to provide compassionate and high-quality care to patients with complex respiratory conditions.
  6. Collaborate with healthcare team: You will work closely with other members of the healthcare team, including nurses, physician assistants, and respiratory therapists, to coordinate patient care and ensure a positive patient experience.
  7. Adhere to healthcare regulations: You will be responsible for following all healthcare regulations and protocols, including infection control, to maintain a safe and clean environment for patients and staff.
  8. Maintain inventory and supplies: It will be your responsibility to maintain and order necessary medical supplies and equipment to ensure smooth operations within the department.
  9. Attend training and education: As a Certified Medical Assistant, you will be expected to stay current with industry developments and attend training and education sessions as required.
  10. Demonstrate professionalism: In this role, you will be expected to maintain a professional demeanor at all times and adhere to the organization's code of conduct and ethical standards.

Job Qualifications
  • Certified Medical Assistant: The Candidate Must Possess A Valid Certification As A Medical Assistant From An Accredited Institution. This Certification Ensures That The Candidate Has The Necessary Knowledge And Skills To Perform The Duties Of A Medical Assistant In A Critical Care Setting.

  • Experience In Pulmonary Critical Care: The Ideal Candidate Should Have At Least 2-3 Years Of Experience Working In A Pulmonary Critical Care Unit. This Experience Will Demonstrate The Candidate's Familiarity With Critical Care Procedures And Protocols.

  • Knowledge Of Electronic Medical Records: Orlando Health Uses Electronic Medical Records To Maintain Patient Information. The Candidate Must Be Proficient In Navigating And Documenting In An Emr System.

  • Strong Communication Skills: The Job Of A Medical Assistant In A Critical Care Unit Requires Constant Communication With Patients, Families, And Other Healthcare Professionals. The Candidate Must Possess Excellent Verbal And Written Communication Skills To Effectively Convey Information And Instructions.

  • Attention To Detail: Working In A Critical Care Unit Requires The Ability To Pay Close Attention To Detail, As Even The Smallest Error Can Have Significant Consequences. The Candidate Must Have A Keen Eye For Detail And Be Able To Follow Procedures Accurately To Ensure The Safety And Well-Being Of Patients.
