  • Monitor and interpret patient vital signs accurately and efficiently
  • Communicate vital sign readings and any changes to healthcare providers in a timely manner
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of patient vital signs and other pertinent information
  • Recognize and report any abnormal vital sign readings or changes in patient condition to healthcare providers
  • Collaborate with other members of the healthcare team to ensure the best possible patient care
  • Utilize critical thinking skills to quickly identify and respond to any potential issues or concerns
  • Follow all hospital protocols and procedures regarding patient monitoring and documentation
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment to promote patient safety and infection control
  • Attend regular trainings and education sessions to stay up-to-date on new monitoring technologies and procedures
  • Demonstrate a compassionate and patient-centered approach to care at all times.

Job Qualifications
  • High School Diploma Or Equivalent: A Minimum Of A High School Diploma Or Equivalent Is Typically Required For A Monitor Technician Position At Orlando Health. This Demonstrates A Basic Level Of Education And Understanding Of Fundamental Concepts And Skills Necessary For The Job.

  • Certification In Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (Cpr): As A Monitor Technician, One Of The Primary Responsibilities Is To Recognize And Respond To Emergency Situations, Including Cardiac Arrest. Therefore, Having A Current Cpr Certification Is Essential For This Role.

  • Knowledge Of Cardiac Monitoring Equipment: A Strong Understanding Of Different Types Of Cardiac Monitoring Equipment And Their Functions Is Critical For A Monitor Technician. This Includes Ekg Machines, Telemetry Equipment, And Other Monitoring Devices.

  • Excellent Attention To Detail: As A Monitor Technician, It Is Crucial To Have Excellent Attention To Detail To Accurately Monitor And Interpret Cardiac Rhythms. This Includes Recognizing Abnormalities And Promptly Reporting Them To The Appropriate Medical Staff.

  • Previous Experience In A Healthcare Setting: While Not Always Required, Previous Experience In A Healthcare Setting Can Be Beneficial For A Monitor Technician Role At Orlando Health. This Experience Can Include Working As A Nursing Assistant, Medical Assistant, Or In Another Role Where Knowledge Of Medical Terminology And Patient Care Is Gained.
