  1. Monitor and record patients' vital signs, such as heart rate, blood pressure, and oxygen levels.
  2. Observe and report any changes in patients' conditions to the healthcare team.
  3. Operate and troubleshoot medical equipment, including cardiac monitors and telemetry systems.
  4. Maintain accurate and detailed records of patients' vital signs and other observations.
  5. Communicate effectively with healthcare team members to ensure timely and appropriate patient care.
  6. Follow established protocols and procedures for monitoring and reporting patient information.
  7. Collaborate with nurses and physicians to develop and implement patient care plans.
  8. Provide emotional support and reassurance to patients during monitoring procedures.
  9. Adhere to all hospital safety and infection control policies and procedures.
  10. Keep up-to-date with current medical terminology and procedures related to monitoring patients' vital signs.
  11. Provide excellent customer service to patients, families, and visitors.
  12. Participate in training and educational opportunities to enhance knowledge and skills.
  13. Maintain confidentiality of patient information.
  14. Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Job Qualifications
  • High School Diploma Or Equivalent: A Basic Educational Requirement For A Monitor Technician Position At Orlando Health Is A High School Diploma Or Equivalent. This Ensures That The Candidate Has A Minimum Level Of Education And Understanding Of Basic Concepts.

  • Certification In Ekg Or Cardiac Monitoring: Orlando Health Prefers Candidates Who Have Obtained Certification In Ekg Or Cardiac Monitoring. This Demonstrates A Specialized Knowledge And Skill Level In Monitoring Cardiac Rhythms And Interpreting Ekg Results.

  • Experience In A Healthcare Setting: Previous Experience In A Healthcare Setting, Such As A Hospital Or Clinic, Is Highly Valued For A Monitor Technician Position. This Experience Provides A Strong Foundation And Understanding Of Medical Terminology, Procedures, And Equipment.

  • Attention To Detail: One Of The Key Responsibilities Of A Monitor Technician Is To Closely Monitor And Accurately Record Cardiac Rhythms. Therefore, A Strong Attention To Detail And Ability To Identify Any Abnormalities In The Readings Is Essential For This Role.

  • Communication And Teamwork Skills: As A Monitor Technician, You Will Be Working Closely With Other Healthcare Professionals, Such As Nurses And Physicians. Strong Communication And Teamwork Skills Are Necessary To Effectively Collaborate And Ensure The Best Patient Care.
