- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement treatment plans for patients with orthopedic conditions.
- Conduct thorough patient assessments and examinations to diagnose and treat orthopedic conditions.
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests, such as X-rays and MRIs, to aid in diagnosis and treatment.
- Prescribe and administer medications and treatments, as well as provide patient education on medication usage and potential side effects.
- Monitor and evaluate patient progress, adjusting treatment plans as needed to ensure optimal outcomes.
- Perform procedures, such as joint injections and wound care, in accordance with established protocols and guidelines.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including documenting all patient interactions, treatments, and medications.
- Educate patients and their families on orthopedic conditions, treatment options, and self-care techniques.
- Adhere to all safety and infection control policies and procedures to ensure a safe and clean environment for patients and staff.
- Stay current on developments and advancements in the field of orthopedics, attending conferences and workshops as needed to maintain knowledge and skills.
- Act as a patient advocate, ensuring that each patient receives individualized, compassionate, and high-quality care.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to identify and implement process improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and satisfaction.
- Adhere to all ethical and legal standards, including HIPAA regulations, in the delivery of patient care.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and colleagues to ensure a positive and professional working environment.
- Participate in on-call and weekend rotations as needed to provide 24/7 coverage for patient care needs.
Advanced Education And Training: A Minimum Of A Master's Degree In Nursing With A Specialization In Orthopedics Is Required For This Position. Additionally, Candidates Must Have Completed A Graduate-Level Certification Program In Orthopedics.
Clinical Experience: A Minimum Of 2-3 Years Of Clinical Experience In An Orthopedics Setting Is Required For This Position. This Experience Should Be In A Fast-Paced And High-Volume Environment, Preferably In A Hospital Or Healthcare System Similar To Orlando Health.
Licensure And Certification: Candidates Must Possess A Current And Valid Nurse Practitioner License In The State Of Florida, As Well As National Certification As An Orthopedic Nurse Practitioner. Additional Certifications, Such As Acls Or Pals, May Also Be Required.
Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills: The Ability To Effectively Communicate With Patients, Colleagues, And Other Healthcare Professionals Is Essential For This Position. Nurse Practitioners In Orthopedics Must Also Possess Strong Interpersonal Skills To Build Relationships With Patients And Their Families.
Knowledge Of Orthopedic Procedures And Treatments: A Strong Understanding Of Orthopedic Procedures, Treatments, And Technologies Is Necessary For This Position. Candidates Must Have A Comprehensive Knowledge Of Orthopedic Conditions, Diagnostic Tools, And Treatment Options To Provide High-Quality Care To Patients.
