
Nursing Assistant, Ortho/Neuro

- Assist patients with daily living tasks, such as bathing, dressing, and grooming, while maintaining their comfort and dignity.
- Monitor and record patient vital signs and report any changes or concerns to the nursing team.
- Help patients with mobility and transferring, using proper lifting and positioning techniques to prevent injury.
- Respond promptly to patient calls and requests for assistance, ensuring their needs are met in a timely and efficient manner.
- Document patient care activities accurately and timely in accordance with facility policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with the nursing team to create and implement individualized care plans for patients.
- Maintain a clean and organized patient care environment, restocking supplies as needed.
- Provide emotional support to patients and their families, actively listening and addressing any concerns or questions.
- Attend and actively participate in team meetings, sharing insights and ideas for improving patient care.
- Continuously seek opportunities for professional development and growth, staying up-to-date on best practices and changes in healthcare protocols.
- Adhere to all safety and infection control protocols to ensure the health and well-being of patients and staff.
- Foster a positive and welcoming environment for patients and visitors, representing Orlando Health with professionalism and empathy.
Certified Nursing Assistant (Cna) License: A Valid Cna License Is A Requirement For This Position, As It Demonstrates The Necessary Knowledge And Skills To Provide Quality Care For Patients In The Ortho/Neuro Unit.
Experience In Orthopedic And Neurological Care: Previous Experience In Caring For Patients With Orthopedic And Neurological Conditions Is Preferred, As It Shows A Familiarity With The Specific Needs And Treatments Of These Patients.
Basic Life Support (Bls) Certification: Bls Certification Is Necessary To Respond To Emergency Situations And Provide Basic Life-Saving Interventions In The Ortho/Neuro Unit.
Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills: Nursing Assistants Must Be Able To Effectively Communicate With Patients, Their Families, And Other Healthcare Team Members. This Includes Being Able To Provide Clear Instructions, Listen Actively, And Show Empathy And Compassion.
Physical Stamina And Flexibility: Working In The Ortho/Neuro Unit Can Be Physically Demanding, Requiring Standing, Walking, And Lifting For Extended Periods Of Time. Nursing Assistants Must Be Able To Meet These Physical Demands And Also Be Flexible In Their Schedule To Accommodate Changing Patient Needs.
