
Occupational Therapy Assistant - Certified

We are currently seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Occupational Therapy Assistant - Certified to join our team. As an OTA-C, you will work under the supervision of our licensed Occupational Therapists to help our patients regain, develop, and maintain their daily living and work skills. Your passion for helping others and your strong attention to detail will play a vital role in assisting our patients on their road to recovery. - Assist licensed Occupational Therapists in evaluating and treating patients according to their individualized treatment plans.
- Implement therapeutic exercises and activities to help patients regain, develop, and maintain their daily living and work skills.
- Observe and document patient progress, changes, and response to treatment.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated and comprehensive care.
- Adhere to all safety and infection control protocols to maintain a safe and clean treatment environment.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and documentation.
- Collaborate with other members of the healthcare team to develop and revise treatment plans as needed.
- Provide emotional support and encouragement to patients and their families throughout the rehabilitation process.
- Stay informed and up-to-date on new techniques and advancements in occupational therapy.
- Participate in departmental meetings, trainings, and educational opportunities as required.
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to all HIPAA regulations.
- Adhere to all ethical and professional standards of practice.
- Promote a positive and welcoming environment for patients, families, and visitors.
- Assist with equipment maintenance and cleaning to ensure proper functioning.
- Follow departmental policies and procedures to ensure quality care and compliance with regulatory standards.
- Continuously seek opportunities for professional growth and development.
- Take initiative in identifying and addressing any issues or concerns related to patient care.
- Represent Orlando Health in a professional and positive manner at all times.
Associate's Degree In Occupational Therapy Assistant Program: Candidates For This Position Must Have Completed An Accredited Program In Occupational Therapy Assistant, Which Typically Takes 2 Years To Complete.
Certification As An Occupational Therapy Assistant: Candidates Must Have An Active Certification From The National Board For Certification In Occupational Therapy (Nbcot) To Practice As An Occupational Therapy Assistant.
State Licensure: In Addition To Nbcot Certification, Candidates Must Also Hold A Valid State License To Practice As An Occupational Therapy Assistant In The State Of Florida.
Experience In A Healthcare Setting: Candidates Must Have Previous Experience Working In A Healthcare Setting, Preferably In A Hospital Or Rehabilitation Center.
Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills: Occupational Therapy Assistants Work Closely With Patients And Other Healthcare Professionals, So Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills Are Essential For This Role.
