Job Description

Orlando Health is seeking a compassionate and skilled Paramedic to join our Children's Emergency & Trauma Unit. As a member of our team, you will work alongside a multidisciplinary team to provide life-saving care to pediatric patients in critical situations.   1. Provide life-saving care to pediatric patients in critical situations.
  2. Work closely with a multidisciplinary team to ensure the best possible outcomes for patients.
  3. Administer appropriate medical treatments and interventions according to established protocols.
  4. Monitor patients' vital signs and respond quickly to any changes or emergencies.
  5. Communicate effectively with patients, families, and team members to provide updates on patients' conditions and treatment plans.
  6. Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of patient care.
  7. Adhere to all hospital policies, procedures, and safety protocols.
  8. Continuously evaluate and assess patients' conditions and adjust treatment plans as necessary.
  9. Participate in ongoing training and education to stay current on best practices and advancements in pediatric emergency care.
  10. Advocate for the needs of pediatric patients and their families during their most vulnerable moments.
  11. Ensure a safe and comfortable environment for patients and their families.
  12. Maintain proper inventory and restock supplies as needed.
  13. Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care.
  14. Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to all HIPAA regulations.
  15. Serve as a positive role model and uphold the values and mission of Orlando Health.

Job Qualifications
  • Valid Paramedic Certification: Applicants Must Possess A Valid Paramedic Certification From A Recognized Institution, Demonstrating Knowledge And Skills In Providing Emergency Medical Care To Patients Of All Ages.

  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (Pals) Certification: Candidates Should Have Current Pals Certification, Indicating Their Ability To Provide Advanced Life Support To Critically Ill Or Injured Children.

  • Experience In Pediatric Emergency Care: A Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience Working In A Pediatric Emergency Setting Is Required. This Ensures That The Candidate Has The Necessary Knowledge And Skills To Handle The Unique Challenges Of Caring For Children In Emergency Situations.

  • Excellent Communication And Teamwork Skills: The Job Requires Working Closely With A Team Of Healthcare Professionals, Including Doctors, Nurses, And Other Paramedics. Strong Communication And Teamwork Skills Are Essential In Providing Efficient And Effective Care To Children In The Emergency Setting.

  • Ability To Work In High-Stress Situations: Working In A Children's Emergency And Trauma Unit Can Be Emotionally And Physically Demanding. Candidates Must Demonstrate The Ability To Remain Calm And Focused In High-Stress Situations And Make Critical Decisions Quickly And Effectively.
