In this role, you will be responsible for accurately and efficiently processing patient accounts and insurance claims.   1. Process and review patient accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness of billing information.
  2. Accurately enter and update patient demographic and insurance information in the billing system.
  3. Prepare and submit insurance claims to third-party payers in a timely manner.
  4. Review and resolve any claim rejections or denials, including following up with insurance companies and/or patients.
  5. Communicate with patients, insurance companies, and healthcare providers to obtain any missing or necessary information for claims processing.
  6. Maintain knowledge of current medical billing and coding guidelines and regulations.
  7. Collaborate with other team members to ensure efficient and effective workflow.
  8. Provide exceptional customer service to patients and their families, addressing any questions or concerns they may have regarding their accounts.
  9. Assist with collections and follow-up on outstanding patient balances.
  10. Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations at all times.
  11. Identify and report any billing errors or issues to management.
  12. Participate in training and professional development opportunities to stay updated on industry changes and best practices.
  13. Contribute to creating a positive and welcoming atmosphere for patients and staff.
  14. Adhere to departmental policies and procedures to ensure compliance with company standards.
  15. Perform other related duties as assigned.
