  1. Provide compassionate and skilled nursing care to critically ill patients in the ICU.
  2. Utilize critical thinking skills to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.
  3. Collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
  4. Administer medications and treatments according to physician orders and nursing protocols.
  5. Monitor and document patient progress and response to treatments.
  6. Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to provide education, support, and updates on patient care.
  7. Maintain accurate and complete patient records and ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements.
  8. Adhere to infection control and safety protocols to provide a safe and clean environment for patients and staff.
  9. Participate in continuing education and professional development opportunities to maintain and enhance clinical skills and knowledge.
  10. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to identify and implement quality improvement initiatives.
  11. Provide emotional support and comfort to patients and their families during difficult and stressful times.
  12. Handle emergency situations calmly and effectively, following established protocols.
  13. Maintain confidentiality and uphold ethical standards in all aspects of patient care.
  14. Demonstrate a commitment to providing high-quality and patient-centered care.
  15. Adhere to organizational policies and procedures to ensure the smooth operation of the ICU unit.

Job Qualifications
  • Valid Rn License In The State Of Florida: This Is A Basic Requirement For Any Registered Nurse Position, And Specifically For The Icu/Intensive Care Unit At Orlando Health, The Candidate Must Have A Valid Rn License In The State Of Florida.

  • Bachelor Of Science In Nursing (Bsn) Degree: A Bsn Degree Is Preferred For This Position As It Provides A More Comprehensive Education In Critical Care Nursing And Better Prepares The Nurse For The Demands Of The Icu/Intensive Care Unit.

  • Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience In An Icu/Intensive Care Unit Setting: This Position Requires A Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience In An Icu/Intensive Care Unit Setting, Preferably In A Hospital Setting. This Ensures That The Candidate Has The Necessary Experience And Skills To Handle High Acuity Patients.

  • Current Bls And Acls Certification: Basic Life Support (Bls) And Advanced Cardiac Life Support (Acls) Certifications Are Required For This Position. These Certifications Demonstrate The Candidate's Ability To Respond To Emergency Situations And Provide Advanced Life Support.

  • Critical Thinking And Problem-Solving Skills: Working In The Icu/Intensive Care Unit Requires Quick Thinking And The Ability To Make Critical Decisions In High-Pressure Situations. Candidates For This Position Should Possess Strong Critical Thinking And Problem-Solving Skills To Effectively Assess And Manage Patient Care.
