- Provide specialized care for patients with mental health disorders, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of treatment plans.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members, including psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals, to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians and monitor their effectiveness and potential side effects.
- Utilize strong clinical skills to identify and assess patients' mental health needs and provide appropriate interventions and referrals as needed.
- Demonstrate compassion, empathy, and patience while caring for patients with behavioral health needs, and maintain a non-judgmental attitude.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with patients, their families, and other healthcare team members to ensure coordinated and comprehensive care.
- Follow all regulatory and ethical standards, including HIPAA, in the delivery of patient care.
- Remain up-to-date on current trends and best practices in behavioral health nursing, and participate in ongoing education and training opportunities.
- Adhere to hospital policies and procedures, including infection control protocols, to ensure patient safety and quality of care.
- Serve as an advocate for patients and their families, ensuring their needs and preferences are addressed in the care plan.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care, including assessments, interventions, and outcomes.
- Collaborate with community resources and support systems to ensure continuity of care upon discharge.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement within the behavioral health unit.
- Maintain a positive and professional attitude, promoting a safe and supportive work environment for all team members.
- Uphold the values and mission of Orlando Health and represent the organization in a positive manner at all times.
Bls And Acls Certifications.
Bachelor's Degree In Nursing (Bsn) From An Accredited University.
Current And Active Registered Nurse (Rn) License In The State Of Florida.
Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience In Behavioral Health Nursing.
Strong Communication And Critical Thinking Skills.
