
Speech Language Pathologist- Outpatient Rehabilitation

- Conduct comprehensive evaluations to assess and diagnose speech, language, and swallowing disorders in patients.
- Develop individualized treatment plans based on evaluation findings and patient goals.
- Implement evidence-based therapeutic interventions to improve communication and swallowing abilities.
- Monitor and document patient progress and adjust treatment plans as needed.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals and family members to ensure a comprehensive and coordinated approach to patient care.
- Provide education and resources to patients and their families to promote carryover of skills learned in therapy.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with facility and professional standards.
- Stay current with advancements and best practices in the field of Speech Language Pathology.
- Adhere to ethical and professional standards and maintain patient confidentiality.
- Actively participate in team meetings and contribute to a positive and collaborative work environment.
- Comply with all facility policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
- Continuously seek opportunities for professional growth and development.
- Demonstrate a compassionate and empathetic approach to patient care.
- Represent Orlando Health and the Outpatient Rehabilitation team in a professional and positive manner.
- Maintain a valid state license and meet all continuing education requirements.
Master's Degree In Speech Language Pathology: A Speech Language Pathologist Must Possess A Master's Degree In Speech Language Pathology From An Accredited Institution. This Degree Provides The Necessary Knowledge And Skills To Assess And Treat A Variety Of Speech And Language Disorders.
State Licensure And Certification: To Practice As A Speech Language Pathologist, One Must Be Licensed By The State In Which They Work. In Addition, Many Employers Prefer Candidates Who Hold A Certificate Of Clinical Competence In Speech-Language Pathology (Ccc-Slp) From The American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (Asha).
Clinical Experience In Outpatient Rehabilitation: Previous Experience Working In An Outpatient Rehabilitation Setting Is Highly Desirable For This Position. It Demonstrates The Candidate's Ability To Work With A Diverse Patient Population And Familiarity With The Specific Challenges And Goals Of Outpatient Care.
Knowledge Of Evidence-Based Practices: A Strong Understanding Of Evidence-Based Practices In Speech Language Pathology Is Essential For Providing Effective Treatment. Employers Will Look For Candidates Who Have Knowledge Of The Latest Research And Techniques In The Field.
