Job Description

Orlando Health is seeking a dedicated Speech Language Pathologist to join our Outpatient Rehabilitation team. As a Speech Language Pathologist, you will have the opportunity to work with a diverse patient population and provide individualized treatment plans to address speech, language, and swallowing disorders. We are looking for a highly skilled and compassionate individual with a Master's degree in Speech Language Pathology and a valid state license.   1. Conduct comprehensive evaluations to assess and diagnose speech, language, and swallowing disorders in patients.
  2. Develop individualized treatment plans based on evaluation findings and patient goals.
  3. Implement evidence-based therapeutic interventions to improve communication and swallowing abilities.
  4. Monitor and document patient progress and adjust treatment plans as needed.
  5. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals and family members to ensure a comprehensive and coordinated approach to patient care.
  6. Provide education and resources to patients and their families to promote carryover of skills learned in therapy.
  7. Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with facility and professional standards.
  8. Stay current with advancements and best practices in the field of Speech Language Pathology.
  9. Adhere to ethical and professional standards and maintain patient confidentiality.
  10. Actively participate in team meetings and contribute to a positive and collaborative work environment.
  11. Comply with all facility policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
  12. Continuously seek opportunities for professional growth and development.
  13. Demonstrate a compassionate and empathetic approach to patient care.
  14. Represent Orlando Health and the Outpatient Rehabilitation team in a professional and positive manner.
  15. Maintain a valid state license and meet all continuing education requirements.

Job Qualifications
  • Master's Degree In Speech Language Pathology: A Speech Language Pathologist Must Possess A Master's Degree In Speech Language Pathology From An Accredited Institution. This Degree Provides The Necessary Knowledge And Skills To Assess And Treat A Variety Of Speech And Language Disorders.

  • State Licensure And Certification: To Practice As A Speech Language Pathologist, One Must Be Licensed By The State In Which They Work. In Addition, Many Employers Prefer Candidates Who Hold A Certificate Of Clinical Competence In Speech-Language Pathology (Ccc-Slp) From The American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (Asha).

  • Clinical Experience In Outpatient Rehabilitation: Previous Experience Working In An Outpatient Rehabilitation Setting Is Highly Desirable For This Position. It Demonstrates The Candidate's Ability To Work With A Diverse Patient Population And Familiarity With The Specific Challenges And Goals Of Outpatient Care.

  • Knowledge Of Evidence-Based Practices: A Strong Understanding Of Evidence-Based Practices In Speech Language Pathology Is Essential For Providing Effective Treatment. Employers Will Look For Candidates Who Have Knowledge Of The Latest Research And Techniques In The Field.

  • Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills: As A Speech Language Pathologist, One Must Be Able To Communicate Effectively With Patients, Families, And Other Healthcare Professionals. This Includes Strong Listening Skills, Empathy, And The Ability To Adapt Communication Strategies To Meet The Needs Of Each Individual Patient.
