Job Description

At Pacific Gas & Electric, we are seeking an experienced and highly motivated GIS Specialist to join our growing team. The GIS Specialist will be responsible for leveraging geographic information systems (GIS) to create and maintain maps, geospatial databases, and related products for the purpose of analysis and decision-making. This position requires an individual who is passionate about GIS and is eager to apply their knowledge and skills to the business of Pacific Gas & Electric.To be successful in this position, the qualified candidate will possess a Bachelor’s degree in geospatial science, geography, or a related field and have a minimum of two years of experience in GIS. The ideal candidate must also be able to demonstrate knowledge of GIS applications and principles, as well as experience working with ArcGIS software and ESRI technology. In addition, the GIS Specialist must have excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills to effectively explain and present their work.

Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and maintain maps, geospatial databases, and other GIS products for the purpose of analysis and decision-making.
  2. Utilize ArcGIS software and other ESRI technology to create and manage GIS products.
  3. Analyze and interpret data to produce accurate results.
  4. Provide technical guidance and support to other GIS users.
  5. Troubleshoot GIS-related issues and identify solutions.
  6. Develop and document processes and procedures related to GIS applications.
  7. Work with internal teams to ensure GIS products meet customer needs.
  8. Stay up-to-date with the latest GIS technology and products.
  9. Create presentations and reports to effectively explain and present GIS projects.
