As a Journey Lineworker, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and constructing our electric distribution and transmission lines. Operate and maintain electric distribution and transmission lines in a safe and efficient manner.
Conduct regular inspections and maintenance of equipment and lines to ensure reliability and safety.
Perform construction and installation of new lines and equipment.
Respond to power outages and emergencies in a timely and effective manner.
Troubleshoot and diagnose issues with equipment and lines.
Follow all safety protocols and procedures at all times.
Communicate effectively with team members and other departments.
Keep accurate records and reports of work performed.
Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
Stay current with industry standards and best practices.
Train and mentor apprentices and new team members.
Adhere to company policies and procedures.
Collaborate with other departments to ensure efficient and effective operations.
Attend and actively participate in safety meetings and training sessions.
Continuously strive for improvement and innovation in work processes and techniques.

Job Qualifications

High School Diploma Or Equivalent: Candidates For The Journey Lineworker Line Of Progression Job At Pacific Gas And Electric Must Have A High School Diploma Or Equivalent. This Ensures That Candidates Have A Basic Level Of Education And Knowledge To Handle The Technical Aspects Of The Job.
Completion Of A Lineworker Apprenticeship Program: Pacific Gas And Electric Requires Candidates To Have Completed A Lineworker Apprenticeship Program. This Indicates That Candidates Have Gone Through Rigorous Training And Have Hands-On Experience In Performing Tasks Related To The Job.
Valid Commercial Driver's License (Cdl): Candidates Must Possess A Valid Cdl Issued By The State In Which They Will Be Working. This License Is Necessary For Operating Company Vehicles And Equipment, And Ensures That Candidates Are Able To Safely And Legally Operate Large Vehicles.
Physical Fitness: The Job Of A Journey Lineworker Can Be Physically Demanding, Involving Climbing Poles, Carrying Heavy Equipment, And Working In Various Weather Conditions. Candidates Must Be Physically Fit And Able To Perform The Tasks Required For The Job.
Knowledge Of Safety Procedures And Regulations: Working With Electricity Can Be Dangerous, And Safety Is A Top Priority At Pacific Gas And Electric. Candidates Must Have A Thorough Understanding Of Safety Procedures And Regulations, And Must Be Able To Follow Them At All Times To Ensure The Safety Of Themselves And Their Team Members.
