Job Description

In this role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring the safety and reliability of our power lines by inspecting and monitoring vegetation growth near our infrastructure.   1. Conduct regular inspections of vegetation growth near power lines and other infrastructure to ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations.
  2. Identify and report any potential hazards or issues related to vegetation encroachment on power lines.
  3. Communicate and coordinate with landowners, contractors, and other stakeholders regarding vegetation management plans and procedures.
  4. Monitor and track vegetation management activities to ensure timely completion and adherence to budget.
  5. Utilize specialized tools and equipment to accurately measure and document vegetation growth and clearance.
  6. Stay up-to-date on industry standards, regulations, and best practices related to vegetation management.
  7. Collaborate with other team members and departments to develop and implement strategies for effective vegetation management.
  8. Assist in the development and implementation of training programs for vegetation management and safety.
  9. Maintain detailed records and reports of vegetation inspections, maintenance activities, and any related incidents.
  10. Demonstrate a strong commitment to safety and environmental stewardship in all aspects of the job.
  11. Identify and recommend improvements to existing vegetation management processes and procedures.
  12. Act as a liaison between the company and regulatory agencies regarding vegetation management.
  13. Participate in emergency response and restoration efforts as needed, including after severe weather events.
  14. Represent the company and its values by maintaining a positive and professional demeanor at all times.
  15. Serve as a subject matter expert on vegetation management for internal and external stakeholders.

Job Qualifications
  • Knowledge Of Vegetation Management: The Ideal Candidate Should Have A Thorough Understanding Of Vegetation Management Techniques And Practices, Including Fire Prevention And Control Methods, Tree Trimming And Removal, And Herbicide Application.

  • Experience In Utility Operations: A Successful Candidate Should Have Experience In Utility Operations, Preferably In The Field Of Vegetation Management. This Includes Knowledge Of Power Line Construction, Maintenance, And Repair, As Well As Familiarity With Relevant Safety Regulations And Procedures.

  • Communication And Documentation Skills: As A Vegetation Operations Inspector, Effective Communication And Documentation Skills Are Crucial. This Role Requires The Ability To Communicate Clearly And Concisely With Various Stakeholders, Including Customers, Contractors, And Internal Teams, As Well As The Ability To Accurately Document Inspection Findings And Recommendations.

  • Analytical And Problem-Solving Skills: The Ability To Analyze And Interpret Data, Identify Potential Risks And Hazards, And Develop Solutions To Mitigate Them Is Essential For A Vegetation Operations Inspector. This Role Also Requires The Ability To Make Quick And Effective Decisions In High-Pressure Situations.

  • Physical Fitness And Outdoor Work Experience: This Role Involves Working Outdoors In Various Weather Conditions And Terrain, Often In Remote Areas. The Ideal Candidate Should Be Physically Fit And Have Experience Working In Outdoor Environments. This Includes The Ability To Hike Long Distances, Climb Trees, And Operate Equipment Such As Chainsaws And Brush Cutters.
