1. Oversee the daily care and well-being of all animals in the store, ensuring their needs are met and that they are living in a clean and safe environment.
2. Train and supervise a team of animal care associates, providing guidance and support to ensure high-quality care for all animals.
3. Develop and maintain protocols for the proper handling, feeding, and housing of different types of animals.
4. Monitor the health and behavior of all animals and take appropriate action if any issues arise.
5. Educate staff and customers on proper animal care and handling techniques.
6. Coordinate with vendors and suppliers to ensure timely and adequate supply of animal food, bedding, and other necessary items.
7. Maintain accurate records of animal inventory, health, and adoption status.
8. Conduct regular inspections of animal habitats, equipment, and supplies to ensure they meet company standards.
9. Work closely with the store manager to develop and implement strategies for promoting animal adoption and increasing sales.
10. Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal laws and regulations related to animal care and welfare.
11. Handle customer inquiries and concerns regarding animal care with professionalism and empathy.
12. Lead by example and foster a positive and caring work environment for both animals and staff members.
13. Continuously evaluate and improve animal care practices in alignment with industry standards.
14. Collaborate with the store management team to implement and maintain effective safety and emergency procedures for animals.
15. Attend relevant training and conferences to stay up-to-date on the latest developments in animal care.
