- Evaluate student performance and provide feedback to promote growth and improvement.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements to ensure students receive the most relevant and current education.
- Serve as a mentor and role model for students, providing guidance and support in their academic and professional development.
- Collaborate with other instructors and campus staff to ensure a cohesive and effective learning experience for students.
- Maintain accurate and organized records of student attendance, grades, and progress.
- Communicate regularly with students and provide resources and assistance to help them achieve their academic and career goals.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and stay updated on industry standards.
- Adhere to institute policies and procedures, as well as state and federal regulations, to ensure a safe and compliant learning environment.
- Foster a culture of diversity and inclusivity, promoting respect and understanding among students and colleagues.
- Represent the institute in a professional and positive manner to students, community members, and industry professionals.
- Continuously assess and improve teaching methods and materials to enhance student learning outcomes.

Relevant Education And Certification: A Dental Assistant Instructor At Pima Medical Institute - Tucson Should Possess A Degree Or Certification In Dental Assisting Or A Related Field. This Includes A Dental Assistant Certificate, Associate's Degree In Dental Assisting, Or Bachelor's Degree In A Related Field Such As Health Sciences Or Education.
Clinical Experience: The Ideal Candidate Should Have At Least 3-5 Years Of Experience Working As A Dental Assistant In A Clinical Setting. This Experience Should Include A Variety Of Dental Procedures And Techniques, As Well As Experience Working With Different Types Of Patients.
Teaching Experience: Prior Experience As A Dental Assistant Instructor Is Preferred, But Not Required. However, Candidates Should Have Some Experience In Teaching Or Training, Whether It's In A Formal Classroom Setting Or As A Mentor To New Dental Assistants In A Clinical Environment.
Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills: As An Instructor, It Is Important To Effectively Communicate And Engage With Students Of Varying Backgrounds And Learning Styles. The Ideal Candidate Should Have Excellent Verbal And Written Communication Skills, As Well As The Ability To Establish A Positive And Supportive Rapport With Students.
Knowledge Of Industry Standards And Regulations: A Dental Assistant Instructor Should Have A Thorough Understanding Of Current Industry Standards And Regulations, Including Osha And Hipaa Guidelines. This Will Ensure That Students Are Trained In Accordance With Best Practices And Are Prepared For Their Future Careers As Dental Assistants.
