GIS Specialist (Geographic Information Systems)

PPL Corp. is looking for an experienced and knowledgeable GIS Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining Geographic Information Systems (GIS) applications and databases to support PPL Corp.’s operations. Successful candidates will have a deep understanding of GIS software, databases, and data management principles, as well as strong communication skills and the ability to work in a team environment. Responsibilities:

1. Develop, maintain, and update GIS applications and databases to support PPL Corp.’s operations.
2. Create and manage GIS data by converting raw data into GIS formats and integrating GIS data with other data sources.
3. Analyze geographic data to identify patterns, trends, and correlations.
4. Utilize GIS software, databases, and data management principles to create innovative GIS solutions.
5. Provide support and training to staff and stakeholders on the use of GIS applications.
6. Prepare GIS maps, charts, and reports for internal and external use.
7. Develop and maintain geospatial processes, standards, and procedures.
8. Ensure data accuracy and security in accordance with company policies and standards.
9. Monitor the performance of GIS systems and troubleshoot any technical issues.
10. Monitor industry trends and best practices related to GIS technology.
